  • Modern harps are usually designed by French pianist S. Eilar in 1810, with forty-seven strings of different lengths and seven pedals that can change the pitch of the strings, playing all tones. The main structure of a harp includes the body (column, hanging plate, resonance box, and base) and the string system (strings, shaft, variable transmission mechanism, and pedals). The strings are threaded out of the resonance box and fixed to the iron bolt on the neck. The total tension of all tuned strings can reach 730 kilograms.
